Rich, glowing, and complex. Layer upon layer of luscious, beautiful oils make this painting a joy to behold with all of its nuances and complexities.
What is a Milagro? Literally translated it means “miracle”. Milagros are used as offerings for prayers in many Hispanic countries. All of the women in this body of work wear milagros around their neck and I think of them as talismans of protection.
Created as part of my “Little Miracles” Collection as an exploration of the ways in which magic, miracles and spirituality show up in our daily lives. All of the paintings in this collection are rich in symbolism and meaning.
